BSc Applied Psych, Tai Chi & Qi Gong Lecturer
Pat Quigley studied Applied Psychology and English in UCC and graduated in 1994. For the next 14 years he traveled the world, spending 3 years in India and traveling extensively in Asia, Africa, China, Japan, Tibet, North and South America and the Middle East.
In India in 2003, after experimenting with Hatha Yoga and Vipassana Meditation he started studying Tai Chi with Tony Werner, a former student of Bruce Frantzis, a Taoist Lineage Master with over 40 years of experience in Eastern healing systems.
Since then he has studied Qi Gong and Tai Chi at the Tagou Shaolin Kung Fu School near Dengfeng, China and with Master Wang Zhi Ping in Yangshuo, China and the late Chris Jarmey, founder of the European School of Shiatsu.
In India Pat trained with Marco Feira a teacher of the Inner Way Tai Chi School and Tlaloc Tokuda a long term student of the renowned Erle Montaigue, the first Westerner to be given the degree of “Master” directly from China in 1985.
Closer to home he has trained with the John Ding International Academy of Tai Chi Chuan.He studies Yang Style Tai Chi and is a daily practitioner and firm believer in the power of Tai Chi. In addition to teaching at the college Pat runs Tai Chi Classes in Cuskinny Court in Cobh every Tuesday at 7:30
