The above courses are designed to meet the core curriculum and membership standards of:

The Acupuncture Council of Ireland (TCMCI): 1000 contact hours
The Association of TCM in Ireland (ATCMI): 1200 contact hours
The British Acupuncture Council (BAaC) UK: 1200 contact hours

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) USA through their FERA (Foreign Education Credential Review) programme.

  • Chinese Herbal Degree Level Course

This course is designed to meet the core curriculum standards of:

The Association of TCM Ireland (ATCMI): 1200 contact hours

The Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine (RCHM) in the UK, and the European Herbal and Traditional Medicine Practitioners Association (EHTPA): 2810 overall hours

The National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in the USA

On graduation you may apply for membership to TCMCI, ATCMI, BAcC, or RCHM. This will normally entail filling out an application form, presentation of a transcript, and attendance at an interview

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS IN IRELAND MAKE COLLEGES SHOW THEM IN ALL RESPECTS EXACTLY – AND TO THE HOUR – HOW THEIR CURRICULA MEET SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE STANDARDS

Unfortunately due to the disinterest of some private colleges and professional associations in Ireland in agreeing to raise the standard of training to common, European benchmarked, degree level programmes – to be delivered by ALL associations and private colleges – the Federation of TCM and Acupuncture Associations of Ireland project, “the steering group”, reporting to the Department of Health and Children, has had to be temporarily disbanded.
